Knight Note is built around local-first note taking. This page covers the public website, support contact flow, app downloads, optional sync provider connections, and custom rollout requests.
What we collect
We only collect information that is necessary to operate the public website, reply to support requests, deliver downloads, and keep public services reliable.
- Contact form submissions such as your name, email address, company, subject, and message.
- Basic server logs needed for security, abuse prevention, and reliability monitoring.
- Custom branding or rollout requests you choose to send by email or support form.
What stays on your device
Your note content, local vault data, AI Memory vaults, and offline workspace remain on your device unless you explicitly choose a sync provider, use a browser extension clipper connection, or send data through a public form.
Browser extension
The Knight Note Web Clipper browser extension reads the current page only when you choose to clip a selection, page, or linked pages. The extension sends clipped content to the Knight Note desktop app running on your own computer at 127.0.0.1. It stores the local clipper token and preferences in browser extension storage so it can connect to your local app. Knight Note does not receive your clipped page content through the public website or licensing service.
How information is used
- To answer support, product, and rollout questions.
- To deliver downloads, updates, and public service status.
- To protect the service against fraud, abuse, or operational failures.
Third-party services
Knight Note may rely on hosting providers, DNS providers, email delivery tools, and the sync providers you choose. Those services process the minimum information required to complete those tasks.
Data retention
Support records and operational logs are retained for as long as they are reasonably needed for operations, abuse prevention, reliability, or customer support.
